News from The Yoga Place - April 2009
Dear Friends,
We are in the 6th week of our 8-week session of yoga and registration for the session beginning May 4th is now available. There are no changes in the schedule and you can print out registration forms from the website.
There will be a week break during the last week of April when I will be on retreat and the main room at The Yoga Place will be painted. I am looking for a couple of volunteers who might be able to help repair some of the dry wall and help with painting. It will take place mostly on the weekend of April 25th. Please call the office (608-784-2622) or email chris@yogalacrosse.com if you could help with this project in any way and for any amount of time. Even a couple of hours would be appreciated.
One thing about registration: it would be greatly appreciated if you would sign up for the next session of classes before the session begins. This makes our bookkeeping so much smoother. If you ever want us to hold your check until your payday, just let us know and we will be glad to accommodate you. Also, if you have been a regular student and are finding it difficult to pay for classes in these trying economic times, please apply for a scholarship or a work trade. For those of you more fortunate, donations to the scholarship fund are always appreciated.
Coming up in August, The Yoga Place is sponsoring a weekend workshop with John Schumacher. I have already had many inquiries about this workshop from neighboring communities in Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. I would like the students of The Yoga Place to have a chance to register first and am giving a discount of $25 if you register by April 25th. Please look at the flyer on the website and sign up soon if you are interested. John is one of the most sought after Iyengar yoga teachers in the United States. I feel very fortunate that he has consented to do a workshop in La Crosse and am glad to offer this experience to the students of The Yoga Place.
We would like to do some Spring cleaning by emptying out the lost and found If you are missing anything that you might have left at The Yoga Place, please check in the lost and found chest in the next two weeks. At the end of the present session, the remaining things will be donated to Goodwill. There are also some Mexican blankets for practice that we have had for some time that are now available for $15.
As always, I have to thank the students at The Yoga Place for your participation in classes and for recommending The Yoga Place to your friends. Though I wish Elizabeth hadn't had to move, I am happy to get to know more of the students while teaching more classes. Visitors to The Yoga Place always comment on what nice students we have and I always agree!
Sincerely,
Chris
