News from The Yoga Place - February 2008
Dear Friends of The Yoga Place,
Registration for the next 8-week session of yoga classes at the Yoga Place officially begins February 15th. Classes for this session - Winter-Spring 2008 - begin March 3rd.
However, the website has been updated so if you would like to bring in registrations next week that would be fine. There is only one change in the schedule and that is that the Ageless class that was on Tuesday at 2 pm will be moving to Wednesday at 11 am.
Some of you have been asking about whether Swati Chanchani will be doing a workshop in La Crosse in June. As of right now, it is still a possibility but she has asked to wait another month to confirm. So if and when I get the go ahead from her, I will let everyone know. Of course, I am really hoping she can come.
As I have done for the past few years, I will be having an assessment preparation workshop in the summer. I will be dividing it into two groups, beginning level teachers and junior level teachers.
The dates will be June 26 - 28 for the beginning teachers and June 29 - July 1 for the junior teachers. I generally ask for volunteers to house some of the participants as well as volunteers to attend the practice teaching classes. Look for sign up sheets in May and/or June.
Please remember that The Yoga Place has a scholarship fund that is in honor of Randi Chaikin. Randi was a long-time student at The Yoga Place, a helper in some of the classes, and studying to be a teacher before she was diagnosed with brain cancer. At her death, her husband and other friends donated money to The Yoga Place to use for scholarships. If you or anyone you know is in need of some funding to take yoga classes, please submit a letter of request to The Yoga Place.
I have been substituting for Francie this week and have really enjoyed seeing some of you who I haven't seen for a long time. We have a great group of students and I want you to know how much I appreciate that! Thank you for continuing to support The Yoga Place.
Sincerely,
Chris Saudek
