News from The Yoga Place - December 2007
Dear Friends,
Our annual Open House is going to be December 16th from 2-5 pm. This is the time that the yoga teachers prepare Indian snacks and yoga students sit around and taste the goodies while conversing with other yoga students.
It is a great time for food and fellowship so I hope you will all join us. There is a sign-up sheet at The Yoga Place so we can have an idea of how many people will come. You are welcome to bring your family and friends as well!
B.K.S Iyengar's birthday is on December 14th so we will celebrate his 89th birthday. The date is also the 50th birthday of one of our students who used to teach at The Yoga Place and is now a student!! Some of you might know him (oops, did I give it away!). In addition, November marked the 10th anniversary of The Yoga Place in the City Square Building. So on December 16th we will be celebrating several things as well as honoring our students.
Secondly, I just sent off a check for $862 to the fund for the Bellur Project. This included $662 that we collected from students and the $200 that I said I would match. It is a very worthwhile project and a nice sum of money to contribute! Many, many thanks to all of you who contributed!
Thirdly, registration begins December 10th for the next session (Winter 2007 starting January 7). There will be some extra classes after the New Year.
These extra classes will be announced and will also be on the website toward the middle of December. Some of these will be geared toward students who have taken at least two sessions of Level I and who would like to progress to Level I Continuing.
Lastly, we have gift certificates, books, bolsters, straps, and will soon have a new supply of mats on hand for gifts. You could put something from The Yoga Place on your wish list too. And a yoga session is the perfect gift for that person on your list who has everything!
And finally, thanks for continuing to be so supportive of The Yoga Place. Happy Holidays.
Sincerely,
Chris
